Mike Farrell
Rivals.com Football Recruiting Class of 2009 defensive end DeOnte Arnett has the frame to grow into a well-built prospect over the next couple of seasons and the Forestville, Maryland junior is poised for a big junior season. The 6-foot-4, 236 pound prospect attended a few camps over the summer and could be hearing from colleges before too long.
"I attended the Nike Elite Combine in Penn State, the Maryland football camp, and the NC State football camp," Arnett explained. "I performed very well at all three camps.
"I killed it at the Maryland camp and did exceptionally well at the others. A couple of my early favorites are Maryland and NC State. I'm being recruited by Maryland, Syracuse, NC State and a few others."
Arnett prides himself on his work in the classroom and maintains a solid 3.0 GPA. Academics will be a big factor in his decision down the road.
"I'm going to be looking for a school in a good location and a great campus. I want to find a place with good academics as well as a good football program."
Over the next year look for Arnett to continue to refine his frame and work on his speed.
