With one day to go before their lone practice game for Oklahoma State, the Georgia Bulldogs practiced in heat on the hard grass fields for two hours on Wednesday. Defensive Coordinator Willie Martinez announced after practice that only two true freshmen defensive players looked like they would be part of the game plan for Oklahoma State.

Linebacker
Rennie Curran and cornerback Vance Cuff should both see action in the first game of the season. Coach Martinez may opt to redshirt the other four true freshmen defensive players. On offense true freshmen Trinton Sturdivant, Clint Boling,
Justin Anderson, and
Bruce Figgins should play opening week. Tight end/receiver Aron White is still on the bubble. Logan Gray, Ben Harden, and
Israel Troupe are all working on the scout team and will probably redshirt barring major injuries. Freshmen offensive linemen Tanner Strickland and
Chris Little and tailback
Caleb King may all redshirt due to fall camp injuries that have not allowed them to practice much if at all.

Punter Drew Butler will have another showdown with walk-on Brian Mimbs on Thursday during the practice game and that performance may decide who gets the job. Butler has a slight edge on Mimbs, but a good or bad performance Thursday could change things for either punter.

Thursday may also decide who starts at wide receiver for Oklahoma State. Wide Receivers Coach John Eason will change his depth chart on Thursday based off the performance of the receivers throughout camp and in the scrimmages. There are twelve scholarship receivers and only two players, Walter Hill and Troupe are likely redshirts. That leaves ten players trying for seven or eight spots. Right now the starters in a three-receiver set are
Sean Bailey,
Mikey Henderson, and
Mohamed Massaquoi, but
Mike Moore, Tony Wilson, A.J. Bryant, and
Kris Durham are all pushing for playing time. Demiko Goodman and T.J. Gartrell are still working their way back into the lineup.
