Stars both on and off the field
As often is the case on the first day of Oklahoma's football camp, there were a mixed bags of some solid names along with a few newcomers that used the relative 'open mic night' to put themselves on the national radar. It's hard to call any player from Oklahoma's traditional stomping ground of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman a surprise to the Sooner coaching staff.
It's easy to say that the hype that had been surrounding the Gaels' strongside defensive end Justin Chaisson wasn't nearly enough. While there was only one offensive lineman who could truly match up physically with the talented pass rusher, it may not have mattered as there was perhaps no player more physically impressive than the 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive end.
Chaisson was only in camp for one day but there is little doubt the Sooners were watching the 2009 prospect closely.
