Wildcats head to Berkeley
Arizona dodged the biggest bullet of the season on Sunday beating Arizona State 61-58, and a loss in Tempe would have likely resulted in an NIT bid for the Wildcats.
Even two consecutive losses to Cal and Stanford to end the season may not have quite the impact of a loss to the in-state rival but would still be detrimental, especially a loss to Cal tonight.
Arizona started off the Pac-10 season with a 94-85 win at home against Cal and at the time was in the midst of a 12-game winning streak and was one of the hottest teams in the country.
Many things have changed for the Wildcats since then but despite the late-season lull, the Golden Bears are still a team that they should beat, especially as they are still without DeVon Hardin.
In the Wildcats' conference-opening win they were firing on all cylinders offensively, with four starters scoring in double figures and Marcus Williams leading the charge with 21 points.
