No Secret


At some time or another, everybody must face the stark reality. For eight teams in the Pac-10 conference, that came last week when they were mathematically eliminated from capturing the Pac-10 title. The conference champ is set to be the second-ranked UCLA Bruins. They have clinched no worse than a tie for the conference championship and the only team that can stop them from winning an outright championship is the team they will face tomorrow - the 13th-ranked Washington State Cougars.

As irony would have it, the Cougars and Bruins played their very first conference games against each other back in December - when the Bruins were pegged by the traditional media as the conference favorites and the Cougars? Well, they were also pegged as the conference favorites…for the cellar.
