UGASports.com The Georgia Bulldog basketball team (8-5, 0-1) will look to rebound from four straight losses when they return home to Stegeman Coliseum on Wednesday night to face the South Carolina Gamecocks (10-3) at 7:30 pm ET. Georgia's four game slide began with the ankle sprain to senior point guard Sundiata Gaines and the team has struggled while Gaines continues to play through his ankle injury. "Sundiata has been our Most Valuable Player every year he has been here so that should explain his importance to our team," said head coach Dennis Felton about the importance of Gaines. "He is the guy for us at the point guard position. He organizes our team, provides stability, and a firm base for us when the ball is in his hands. He is critical for our team and it is much more difficult to function as team without him, but he is getting better everyday and he is not 100 percent. We are happy to have him on the court period and fortunately, he has not had any setbacks with the injured ankle since he came back. It is good to see him limp a little less each day and get a little healthier."
