Purdue's recruiting history in the state of Texas is a long and distinguished one, and one of the Boilermakers' top early Lone Star State targets for 2007 has been tight end Colton McKey of The Woodlands.

The 6-foot-6, 221-pound McKey made his first visit to West Lafayette earlier this week to attend Purdue's camp and came away with some big news.

The Boilermakers had previously offered McKey a scholarship before he attended their camp on Monday, joining the likes of UTEP, Oklahoma State and Air Force on his offer list.
