This and That: IUPUI

November 30, 2011 - Things were give and take in the first half of Georgetown's eventual 81-58 home win over IUPUI Monday night, as that stanza saw John Thompson III's team lead only by 32-31 at intermission. That result was equal parts patience and moxie by the visiting Jaguars, mixed with a certain lack of defensive sluggishness by the Hoyas.

A 14-4 run to start the second half by G'Town changed the game's outcome, as IUPUI would never again challenge. The Hoyas were lead in scoring by junior forward Hollis Thompson's 21 points, while senior center Henry Sims followed with 14.

Board-wise, sophomore forward Nate Lubick led the game with 14 (supplementing his eight points). Thompson pulled down 10 caroms, and freshman forward Otto Porter finished with seven boards, six points, and four dimes. IUPUI enjoyed 16 points - all in the first half - from senior swingman [db]Alex Young, including their first 10.

Observations follow.
