Juwan Lewis biding his time
Muskegon (Mich.) running back Juwan Lewis is flying under-the-radar in Michigan's 2012 recruiting effort. Wolverines fans have their sights set on Canton (Ohio) GlenOak running back Bri'onte Dunn, but that doesn't mean they should forget about Lewis. He visited Ann Arbor for the victory over Minnesota a couple weeks back, and came away impressed.
Lewis currently holds offers from a quartet of Mid-American Conference programs. Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo, and Buffalo have all offered the three-star runner. However, if he impresses during his senior season, attention from some bigger programs is possible.
A bruising, 5-11, 208-pound tailback, Lewis is a candidate for a Michigan offer, especially if Dunn sticks with his current commitment to Ohio State. However, he says that an offer from a BCS-conference program won't change his timeline for making a college choice.
Depending on how the recruiting process shakes out, a Michigan offer could be on the table when the time comes to make his decision.
