Video: Harrison v. Southfield Highlights
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Though Farmington Hills Harrison never trailed yesterday, Southfield High School managed to keep it close until a late score by quarterback Jake Vento for the Hawks put the game out of reach. Harrison recovered a Southfield fumble on the ensuing kickoff and ran out the clock for a 28-14 win.
Michigan commitment tight end Devin Funchess (6-5, 205) caught two passes for the Hawks, for a total of 29 yards. He was also targeted three other times, nearly making a circus catch of a pass behind him on a crossing route. Funchess talked about that play after the game.
Funchess's fellow future Wolverine, defensive end Mario Ojemudia (6-3, 215) also performed well for Harrison. He wasn't as energetic as he had been against Detroit Cass Tech, but in his second game in five days that's excusable. Ojemudia finished with six and a half tackles (four for loss, including two and a half sacks), and he also hurried the quarterback four times.
