Spartans offer another Glenville star?
Glenville High School is always loaded with top talent and 2011 is not different. Many Spartan fans are well aware of Aundrey Walker, but there is another Tarblooder standout that the staff is recruiting. Find out the details.
SpartanMag.com was able to speak with linebacker prospect Frank Clark of Glenville High School last night and he gave us some details about his recruitment has heated up in recent weeks. Clark is rated a 3-star recruit by rivals.com, but is unranked in the position portion. Based on the current recruiting interest he is receiving, that oversight will likely have to be addressed.
Clark took an official visit to North Carolina earlier thsi month and will have a busy January. He told us about his plans for the month of January.
"I will take visit to Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State in January," Clark stated. "I am looking for a college that will help me be successful in the future."
The Spartans just extended an offer to Clark this week. We asked him about receiving a scholarship from Michigan State.
"They offered me this morning (Monday). I was just waking up so I woke up to something special," Clark said. "I really believe that Michigan State is a great place to start a career and I know that the coaches want you to be successful there."
As with many Glenville High School players, Clark has been to East Lansing to check things out. The majority of Glenville players stop into Michigan State every summer while on thw Raw Talent Bus Tour. Clark talked about that.
"I have been up there for a day of camp, but I have not been back recently," he said. "Michigan State is a great football program and I could definitely see myself there in the future."
Clark went on to tell us that as of right now he is measuring in at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. He has very good speed for a player his size and actually played wide receiver for Glenville High School in addition to linebacker. His versatility is one of the reasons why the Spartans are very interested in him. He talked about positions at the next level.
"On defense it would be maybe at safety or linebacker," Clark said. On offense it would be wide receiver. I really don't even have a preference. I just want to be where I can help the team win and make plays"
Michigan State is looking to tap into Glenville High School this year and adding a player like Clark would be an exceptional addition. His ability to help the team at multiple positions is something that makes him a valuable addition to the Spartan if he ends up in Green and White.
