Thomas Rawls off to a record-setting start
Flint (Mich.) Northern running back Thomas Rawls broke reigning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram's Flint-area single game rushing record in week four of the high school football season, but apparently that was not enough because the 5-10, 215-pound back broke the record again in week five.
Rawls carried 28 times for 344 yards and two touchdowns in week four against Saginaw Heritage, breaking Ingram's Flint-area record of 319 rushing yards set during a game in the 2007 season. This past weekend Rawls bested those totals when he rushed for 396 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries against Bay City Central.
