Wood not surprised by attention
John Carroll Catholic (Ala.) defensive end/ outside linebacker Kameron Wood was confident that the offers would roll in this spring.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder was right as several schools including four from the Southeastern Conference have joined the mix for his services.
"It's not surprising," Wood said. "I knew that once I got back in pads and could show people what I can do that heads would turn and that's what they are doing. I'm pretty much happy that heads are finally turning for me."
Wood holds offers from Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Memphis, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy and UAB.
Wood's offer from the Bulldogs came when assistant coach Mark Hudspeth stopped by the Birmingham based school to watch spring practice.
"Coach Hud came out and viewed one practice and took one look at me with his Flip camera and said they would offer me," Wood said. "That's pretty much how it went."
Wood plans on returning to Starkville this summer for camp. He has already camped at MSU the past two summers and likes the proximity from his home.
