Dickerson is looking ahead
Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic junior wide receiver Cameron Dickerson is one of his state's fastest-rising prospects, as three schools have put offers on the table in the past couple of weeks alone.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect from the talent-rich Garden State school spoke to Rivals.com not long ago about his recent offers and what the future holds.
"I have offers from Harvard, Indiana and Vanderbilt," Dickerson explained. "Harvard came in a couple of weeks ago, Indiana was last Friday and Vanderbilt was yesterday."
As you might expect, academics are important to Dickerson, and that happens to be something he's strong in. College coaches are well aware of the fact that he is a good student, and that surely has made their decisions to offer him that much easier.
"Over winter break I went down to North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and Maryland," he recalled. "They all stood out to me because me and my parents are looking for schools that offer a strong education, and they all have that. Also, they all play in the ACC, which is a high level of football."
Dickerson said he hopes to visit the three schools that have offered but he does not have any plans to do that yet.
"I don't know of anything yet," he said of his plans. "I have spring break in two or three weeks, so I'm sure in the next couple of weeks we'll figure something out."
He also left open the possibility of visiting some schools in the Midwest.
As a junior at Bergen Catholic, Dickerson caught 30 passes for 530 yards and seven touchdowns. He said he has no favorites at the moment.
